Making Memories with Grandparents
I recently had a grandmother bring her two grandchildren in for one of my Story Book Sessions, “Gone Fishing”. They were brother and sister and we all had such a wonderful time. When the grandmother called she asked if she could possibly be in a couple of the pictures. Of course I said yes. Grandparents play a very important role in our children’s life. To have them share this unique experience and have something tangible that they can hold in their hand to remember their grandmother by is truly priceless. When these kids become parents they will be able to share these memories with their own children and show them the photographs in print. It really fills my heart with joy knowing that I have been a part of this grandmother’s legacy.
These sessions were offered for a charity event to benefit STAT. They offer programs and services that improve the social, emotional, and behavioral development of children and adults through quality therapeutic and educational equine-facilitated programs. The session fee for these sessions are being donated to this organization. I chose them because they work with special needs children in an unique way. Their program is especially beneficial for individuals whose needs are not being met in traditional educational or therapeutic settings.
The kids, parents and/or grandparents have fun, everyone gets a complimentary 8x10 limited edition fine art print, and we are helping other children and their families. This brings me great joy as well as gives me purpose for my art.
Initially, we were only going to offer these sessions through the end of May, but there has been so much interest and we have so far raised over $700, I have decided to extend these sessions. Though the months of June, July, and August, I plan on offering between 4-6 of these sessions per month. So if you were thinking about it give me a call or you can get more info or book your session here
