Enjoying a Little Down Time
For the past several months, I have felt like I have been doing nothing but working. Being a business owner means every waking second you are on the job. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do. I create beautiful art because that is who I am, it is like oxygen to me, creating feeds my soul. The business side is what I am not particular fond of, but it has to be done. I really needed some time away from thinking about business, a time to enjoy talking and learning different things. Grace, a retired nurse from the hospital I used to work, at invited me to a “Paint on Glass” party at her home. Usually I don’t go to things like this, but I really needed some down time and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I had a great time. Although, I have painted on glass in the past, I wanted to see what this was about.
The Paint Instructor
The instructor starts by telling everyone how to prepare the glass prior to the painting. She then shows everyone the image that the class will be working on. She emphasizes that everyone should use their own creativity to make their creation their own. The class is all about having fun not creating the next Rembrandt. In other words there is no pressure to be perfect, just enjoy the process.
Katie serious about her work.
Grace being the gracious host provide snacks and drinks. So everyone could have a little nourishment while creating their very own masterpiece.
Everyone followed the instructor’s directions as well as observing fellow students while painting. There were compliments on each others work and everyone received inspiration from each other.

I had a wonderful time and am so grateful Grace invited me. I know everyone had fun. I hope to do things like this more often.
