The Story Book Experience

Have you ever played “let’s pretend” with a child. They get to be anything they can imagine. Maybe they imagine they are “Harry Potter” or “The Little Mermaid”. This time is not only great for bonding, but studies have shown that imagination is an important part of the child’s development. The following quote is from Psychology Today,

“There is a great need for pretend play in child development. Fantasy and make-believe can teach children crucial social skills, such as communication, empathy, perspective-taking, and problem-solving. Imaginative playing can encourage curiosity and creativity, often leading to more success in school.”

At our studio, we take imaginative play to a whole new level. The kids and their adults, (parents) decide what they would like to be and we make it happen. Whether it is a wizard, or a mermaid under the sea, during their time in our studio, they become their fantasy. The kids play and I take pictures, while my assistance takes some behind the scene video. We can then put the beautiful images complete with magic into their very own story book written just for them. The story book is beautifully designed and will last for generations to come. These kids will be reading the story of their adventure to their kids and even to their grand kids.

Right now at my studio in Stewartstown, we are offering, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, “Under the Sea” (mermaids), “Gone Fishing”, and “The Secret Garden Tea Party”. Plans are being made for the not so distance future, to have “Land of the dinosaurs”, so check back with is often for new adventures.
