Professional Photography
Today I want to talk about what I offer the clients that come to me for Professional Photography and exactly what it means to be a professional photographer.
Black and White images are truly timeless
First, just a little history on me. I have been an artist all my life. Art is a part of who I am. To me creating art is like breathing to others, it is something I have to do in order to thrive. The art I used to create was on canvas with paint and also on walls in clients homes and offices. When I painted murals for families and professionals, they would bring me an idea and I would sketch something out, sometimes adding to it, sometimes taking it to a higher level. I would then create their art on their walls so they could enjoy it for years.
Around 2010 or 2011, my husband purchased me a canon 7D camera, so I could photograph my art to post it online. I decided, although I knew how light, shadows, and composition could make or break a good piece of art, I wanted to learn more about capturing an image in the camera. In order to learn as much as I could I enrolled in The New York Institute of Photography. I graduated 2 years later with more knowledge about how the camera works, more about lighting and composition. Of course this was not enough, I wanted more knowledge so I continued and still continue to take classes on lighting, composition, editing, and color theory, just to name a few. I also am a member of Professional Photographers of America and I am a Certified Professional Photographer through PPA.
The reason I had to learn all I could was to push myself to become the best artist that I possibly could. Am I there yet, no, I will continue to learn and to grow. This thing called life is all about learning and growth, if we are not growing, we become stagnate and we die.
Third Birthday Photoshoot
This is what I do for my client. I create beautiful art for them to display in their homes and offices. I help bring their visions, or their fantasies to life. Utilizing my vast knowledge and skills of lighting, composition, and editing, I create heirlooms that will be passed down to their children and their children’s children. I help them create a part of their legacy.
Clients come to me with ideas of how they would like to be photographed. Together we collaborate about clothing, the set, makeup, hair, etc. The session itself is completely stress-free, it is a fun time for kids and adults. We laugh, we joke, it is kind of like playtime. A week or two after the session they come back to my studio to see our creation. We start by showing a beautiful video, set to music, with some video footage of the session, as well as the finished images. Usually, there are a few tears, because people get a little emotional seeing what they had a part in creating, as well as the overwhelming feeling of love and awe.
Whether it is a first birthday session, a celebratory session for graduation, a themed “mermaid session”, or just a yearly family session, everyone has the same wonderful experience. Everyone ends up with a wonderful memory and beautiful art for their walls.
What I offer is something that they can’t get from “someone with a camera”. If they just wanted a picture, they could do that themselves, for free. Clients come to me for my experience, knowledge, and expertise. They also come because they want quality products that they can’t get anywhere else.

So if you would like to create beautiful art for your lovely home, let me know. Together, I know we can make a masterpiece.
